As a fairly new Team Leader, I challenged my team to a Valentine Challenge. Two cards, current Stampin’ UP! products only. I was excited to do this challenge, because a) I needed a Valentine card for my husband, and b) this would make me actually make one instead of just thinking about it. Both of my cards were inspired from cards I’d seen on Pinterest.
I’m crazy about the “Hey Love” stamp set. It’s whimsical and sweet – just like me, right? LOL. I used the Botanical Butterfly DSP for the banner (black and white check), as well as the Lovely Lipstick foil sheets for the hearts and the filagree accent from the Petals and More Thinlets. These two products are FREE with the purchase of $60 each, during our Sale-a-bration event, which continues to March 31st. The large heart comes from the Support Ribbon thinlets, and the small hearts were punched out with the Dog Builder punch. The skunk, from Hey Love, was coloured with the Basic Gray Dark Stampin Blend, and the hearts with the Lovely Lipstick Dark Blend Marker. ADORBS!!! I used the Layering Ovals and the Stitched Framelits for the skunk’s background.
My second card is on a background of Real Red cardstock. I created the “ribbons” with the Buffalo Plaid background stamp – Memento on Real Red cardstock, then cut into 1/2″ strips. The gray background is Basic Gray cardstock, layered on Basic Black. First, I stamped the sentiment on to the cardstock, then using a light stamping of Basic Gray ink on the positive side of the Pinewood Planks Embossing folder, I embossed the gray ink into the gray cardstock, to create the beautiful wood background. The hearts are from the Support Ribbon thinlets, sponged with basic gray around the edges and highlighted with the White Stampin Chalk Marker.
