I made a bunch (5) of these snowflake ornaments and linked them together to make a little swag for my carft room. In this video, I make one snowflake, to show you the technique. I linked 5 of them together by punching 2 holes in the opposite “petals” of the snowflakes and tying them together with gold 1/8″ ribbon. I then surrounded the swag with some mini LED lights.
You need to start with a 6 x 6″ square of double sided patterned paper. I’m using the “Traditions of Christmas” DSP, which is foiled poinsettias on one side and tone on tone patterns on the other side.
Cut into 12 – 1/2″ strips (so, 1/2″ x 6″). Watch the video tutorial above to complete your snowflake.

I used a 1/8″ punch to make the holes in the snowflake “petals” and joined them together using 1/8″ gold ribbon to create a chain.
I hope you try these. They’re fun and fast to make. You can use them as a swag, like I did or make individual ornaments for your tree or attach to a wreath.
