Love Eclipse Card

I’m glad I ordered the Large Letters Framelits before they retire next month. I had wanted them for a while, but when I realized they weren’t carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue, I knew I had to get them before they were gone!

I love making my own backgrounds, so I used Flirty Flamingo ink, on Flirty Flamingo card stock to make the background on the card front. I used the floral DistINKtive stamp from April’s Paper Pumpkin, but you can use any floral or texture stamp to create tone on tone backgrounds. One of my favourite EASY techniques.

I used one of the texture stamps from the Beauty Abounds stamp set, and created a very subtle background on the Whisper White card stock, using Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron and So Saffron. First, I smudged the three inks randomly (just a bit) for some light background colour, using the sponge daubers. Then I stamped off twice, before actually stamping with the texture stamp, on the white card, so it was just barely a hint of colour.

I used the Large Letter dies to cut out the word LOVE. I used Post-it repositionable tape to hold the dies in place on the card stock, so I could run them through the big shot, without them shifting.

I used mini-dimensional to lift the letters off the card placing the cut outs back into the cut out spaces. I used liquid glue to put the centre of the “0” right onto the card stock.

Once it was all assembled, I gave it a spritz with the Champagne Mist Shimmer spray. This misty spray is easy to make using 70% isopropyl alcohol and a couple of drops of the shimmer paint, in a spritzer tool.

Whisper White – 5 x 2 3/4
