Snailed It – January Team Swap

January 17, 2021

This month, I’m having a ton of fun with the Snailed It stamp set. I cased this card from a demonstrator in Germany, Stefanie Droop. It just made me smile, so I decided that this is just what the doctor ordered, with all the stressy stuff in the news. I used Stefanie’s layout, and made a few esthetic changes.

The Oh So Ombre DSP is FREE with a C$60 purchase during Sale-a-bration (January 5-Feb28)

Card Base – Basic White 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4″
Oh So Ombre strips – cut three (*your choice of colour), 4″ x 1-5/8. Space evenly, horizontally on the card front.

Stamp the mushroom design on to a 3″x3″ square of Basic White.

Center the 2nd largest Circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies over the design, and place the coordinating die over the stamped image.

I cut them together and held the dies in place with Washi tape. If you do it this way, be careful that the dies are not lying on top of each other, to avoid damaging the dies. They fit nicely, without touching.

Stamp the snail of your choice and die cut or fussy cut, then colour with your choice of colouring medium. I really like the Stampin’ Blends, so that was my choice, but of course you can use coloured pencils or water colour for a different look.

I glued the mushroom cut out directly to the card front, then layered the circle part of the cut out with dimensionals. Next placed the snail off to one side, also on dimensionals.

I used the dies from the Snail dies for the Hello – Basic White for the sentiment, and Bermuda Bay for the rectangular matte.

The googly eyes, on the snail, were from my stash – Craft store or dollarama (can’t remember) and the Resin Hearts Embellishments are also from the January – June Mini, part of the Snail Mail Suite, p54-55
