I absolutely love the versatility of this stamp set. I decided that we could use a little spring, as winter storms blow in, this month, so here are my February Team Swaps. If anyone is interested in doing a group swap with me, let me know – I love sending and receiving cards each month.
Tone on Tone projects usually call my name. Even when I’m quilting, I’ll often opt for a tone on tone look. In this card, I used Gorgeous Grape, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Magenta Madness ink, on the same colour of cardstock to create the base flowers. I used the open petal die to cut out the matching piece for the top of the flower, and the flower die for the larger flower. My card base is Granny Apple Green. I used the Pinewood Planks embossing folder, on a piece of Basic White, as my matte. My greetings are from the Many Messages, stamp set.
With sadness, I made this card for my sister in law Sandy, and brother in law, Blake, for the loss of their gorgeous German Shepherd, Charlie. Charlie was a lovely girl, who loved everyone and especially loved “helping out” at their cattle farm. She’ll be missed, for sure.
Card base – Basic Black – 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 (score at 4-1/4) Front Matte – Basic White – 4 x 5-1/4 Inside Matte – Basic White – 4 x 5-1/4 Basic Black Scrap for front Sentiment
I used a piece of the Poppy Parade DSP and Black 1/8″ from this month’s Paper Pumpkin for the front of the card, but of course you can use one of the prints in the .Playful Pets DSP.
I used the paw die to cut out the paws on the Basic White, top right, using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
I fussy cut the Shepherd from the Playful Pets DSP
The sentiment on the Black banner is also from the Pampered Pets stamp set, stamped with Versamark ink, embossed with white embossing powder. I flagged the ends with my paper snips.
I put the dog and the black banner on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used Resin Heart Embellishments for the banner, paw and dog’s heart. (Jan-June Mini)
I used the heart stamps on the flap on the envelope and inside the card, to finish it off. This card is very simple to make and easily do-able for even the newest stamper.
This month, I’m having a ton of fun with the Snailed It stamp set. I cased this card from a demonstrator in Germany, Stefanie Droop. It just made me smile, so I decided that this is just what the doctor ordered, with all the stressy stuff in the news. I used Stefanie’s layout, and made a few esthetic changes.
The Oh So Ombre DSP is FREE with a C$60 purchase during Sale-a-bration (January 5-Feb28)
Card Base – Basic White 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4″ Oh So Ombre strips – cut three (*your choice of colour), 4″ x 1-5/8. Space evenly, horizontally on the card front.
Stamp the mushroom design on to a 3″x3″ square of Basic White.
Center the 2nd largest Circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies over the design, and place the coordinating die over the stamped image.
I cut them together and held the dies in place with Washi tape. If you do it this way, be careful that the dies are not lying on top of each other, to avoid damaging the dies. They fit nicely, without touching.
Stamp the snail of your choice and die cut or fussy cut, then colour with your choice of colouring medium. I really like the Stampin’ Blends, so that was my choice, but of course you can use coloured pencils or water colour for a different look.
I glued the mushroom cut out directly to the card front, then layered the circle part of the cut out with dimensionals. Next placed the snail off to one side, also on dimensionals.
I used the dies from the Snail dies for the Hello – Basic White for the sentiment, and Bermuda Bay for the rectangular matte.
The googly eyes, on the snail, were from my stash – Craft store or dollarama (can’t remember) and the Resin Hearts Embellishments are also from the January – June Mini, part of the Snail Mail Suite, p54-55
Good riddance 2020 – what a year. We were lucky to have made it through the year unscathed and very happy to wave buh-bye. With this new year, we have two new babies coming. We also have hope for a better year, less stress , more smiles, (maybe) a resolution or two, and Sale-a-Bration.
I thought I’d bring in 2021 by sharing a calendar made with a Sale-a-bration set called Berry Blessings and the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper which is free with a $120 order.
I printed the calendars from the website www.timeanddate.com. I used my Brother Scan’n Cut machine to cut my calendar pages all the same size. Check out my Youtube tutorial here.

I made this card to say hello to my son, Ian, who is an essential worker in the Toronto area. He is an avid dirt biker and when he gets a day off, you can most often find him stirring up the dust on his bike.
The card base is Night of Navy, and the front matte is Crumb Cake. I stamped images from Geared Up Garage and the tire treads from Pedal to the Metal with VersaMark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used the Stampin’ Sponge to smudge some crumb cake randomly on the card stock, and around the dirt bike image, which I die cut with the Stitched Nested Labels. I used the Classic Label Punch for the sentiment. I used Very vanilla for the dirt bike and sentiment.
This beautiful floral suite is coming your way on April 1st. The Ornate Garden Suite is part of the selection for the new Annual 2020/21 catalogue, coming in June, but as an early release, we get to enjoy it before the catalogue comes live on June 3rd. This card was inspired by a card from a member of the Stampin’ Up! Design Team, Emma Goddard, in the UK.
Cut your card stock as follows:
Card Base – Very Vanilla 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, score at 4-1/4 Very Vanilla (cut 2) 5-1/4 x 4, plus small scrap Garden Green – half sheet Ornate Foil DSP – fussy cut flowers
I heat embossed the large floral design with gold embossing powder, onto Garden Green card stock, then fussy cut it out.
Die cut the larger of the scrolled frames from the Ornate Layers Dies, from the Garden Green card stock.
Emboss one of the Very Vanilla pieces, with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. Layer onto the card base, adhering with your favourite snail or liquid glue.
On top of this, layer your Ornate Layers frame, and then place your embossed floral element onto this.
Place your fussy-cut flowers onto your embossed leaf/floral, adhering with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Heat emboss your sentiment, in gold and trim. Embellish with the gilded gems.
I hope you enjoy the tutorial video. Have a great weekend.
