Christmas

Snow Globe Greetings

I’ve collected snow globes for many years and I was delighted to see this new stamp set this season.  I stamped first with the Delicata Gold and then topped it with Delicata Copper Ink  to give it a richer,  more elegant look.

Seaside Spray – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4
Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4  (2)- one for the front and one for the inside sentiment.
Whisper white scrap for raised piece in the globe.

I used the Stamparatus to make sure that my snow globe came together cleanly, as I wanted to make a few of these quickly. I used Pool Party around the edges of the raised element to give it a little more dimension (as well as around the trees). A little Wink of Stella on the roof and the  new Snowfall Accent Puff paint on the ground and evergreen tree.

I stamped the house on a piece of whisper white scrap, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured with Stampin’ Blends.  Then I used the dies from the Still Scenes Bundle, to cut it out, then plunked it onto some dimensionals, and placed inside the globe.  So stinkin’ cute!

Winter Woods Greetings

Img_2555

I was sad to see Lovely as a Tree retire, but Winter Woods is a great replacement. I saw this card on Pinterest, and just had to CASE it.

Shaded Spruce – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, score at 4 1/2
Very Vanilla – 5 1/4 x 4 (2)
White Shimmer paper – 5 1/4 x 2
Vellum – 5 1/4 x 4

I used the curved outline die to create the snow “hills” out of Shimmer White paper, then placed that curved piece onto the Very Vanilla and lightly traced a pencil line to get an idea for tree placement.
On the Very Vanilla, I stamped the trees along that line. Erase the pencil line just to be on the safe side.

Next, I embossed the Vellum with the Softly Falling Embossing folder, which at the moment, is on the Clearance page on my website. Regular price $14, now on sale for $8.40 – now THAT’s a good deal.

Place the vellum, on the Very Vanilla, over the stamped tree line. I used Tear and Tape along the bottom of the vellum piece and a few mini glue dots under the raised snow flakes. If you use liquid glue under vellum, it may show and take away from the beauty of your card.

Layer your curved Shimmer snow line onto the vellum, lining up along the bottom.

Stamp the large evergreen tree onto Shaded Spruce, using Shaded Spruce Ink, then die cut. I used the Fine Tipped Glue randomly over the tree boughs, then used the new Ice Stampin Glitter, to create “ice” on the branches. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals, and voila!

Don’t forget to look to your catalogues for inspiration. There are some beautiful cards, showcasing all of the stamp sets, and this is one of them (page 93, Annual Catalogue 2019-20)

Card Base – Basic grey 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4
Whisper white 4 x 5 1/4 (2) plus some scrap pieces
Coastal Cabana – 1 3/4 x 3 (2)
Gold Foil 2 1/2 x 1 1/2

I did use the Coastal Cabana/Granny apple green reversible ribbon, as an accent, as my order with the Scalloped Linen Ribbon hasn’t arrived yet

Dashing Deer Christmas Card

Img_2430-2

It’s never too early to start preparing your Christmas cards. I recently got the new Scripty 3D embossing folder, and while it’s not “Christmassy”, it fit the bill perfectly.

I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla using the new embossing folder, then scraped the Versamark ink pad roughly here and there, over the raised words – sprinkled the Copper embossing powder lightly over the card stock and heat embossed, to create this unique matte for my card.

I also heat embossed, in copper, the larger of the deer in the Dashing Deer stamp set, and layered over the copper foil sheets. I used the 1/4″ copper trim, instead of ribbon, to complete the metallic look.

I used Crumb Cake ink for the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Very Vanilla – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4, 5 1/4 x 4 (2), 2 1/4 x 3 1/2
Copper Foil – 2 1/2 x 3 3/4

Pretty Kitty Birthday

Pretty Kitty has to be one of my all time favourite stamp sets. I saw this card on Pinterest, posted by Wanda of Starlight Stamper.com. It was so stinkin’ cute, I had to do it as well. I realize that the stamp set is retired but I couldn’t help myself.

The card base is Basic Black – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. You will also need 2 each of 3 3/8 x 1 1/4 and 2 1/8 x 3 1/8

Pool Party Matte 4 x 5 1/4
Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4 (inside), and two pieces 2 x 3″ each.
DSP – 2 pcs 3 1/4 x 1 1/8″

I used the Layering ovals to cut the sentiment layers

Sailing Home Treat Box

Img_5438

Just a simple pillow box for a treat for a gift card. The pillow boxes come in a 10 pack, and all you have to do is a quick embellishment, and VOILA, instant gift box! Bundle the Sailing Home Stamp set and the Smooth Sailing dies and receive 10% off. Also, check out the entire suite on page 145 of the Annual Catalogue

I used Balmy blue ink in the High Seas Embossing folder, then ran the Whisper white card stock through the Big Shot, to get the background. Stamped the Light house in Night of Navy and used the dies from the Sailing Home Bundle to cut out the lighthouse. Night of Navy ink on Crumb Cake completed the Sentiment and a little Night of Navy and Sahara Sand twine, knotted at the bottom .
